Chromatographic Method Selection
A downstream production process must achieve the required purity and yield at a given scale and within a given economic framework. The selection of the wrong chromatographic method during the development of purification processes can be costly and time consuming, directly affecting yield and time to market. Information derived from Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) can be used to select the best chromatographic method, while eliminating those that will be detrimental to the purification process. Save time and money spent upfront by making the right media choices before purification ensues.
DSC can be used to select the optimal chromatographic method before any purification procedure ensues. In the example shown above, DSC data was used to precluded cation exchange chromatrography as a viable methodology for IgE purification (Data and example courtesy of Stephen Demarest, Biogen Idec).
Why use DSC for the selection of chromatographic methods?
- Guide the selection of chromatographic methods before carrying out purification.
